Individual Coaching
A life that feels like a deep breath.
Warm, grounded coaching + practical support for high-achieving leaders who are tired of holding it all…at work and at home.
You Need Relief
If you’re in a season where your success is real, and your nervous system is also tapping out, you don’t need another thing to “work on.”
You need relief.
Not the “take a bath and power through” kind.
The real kind…the kind that comes from building emotional and operational infrastructure that actually holds you up.
The Only One
You’re the one who:
keeps the wheels turning
carries the decision-making
notices what everyone else misses
and somehow ends up being the emotional “container” for a lot of people, too
From the outside, you look steady. (“I’ve got this.”)
On the inside it can feel like constant mental tabs open. The 3 AM wake-ups. The scrolling just to numb it for a minute. The private, quiet “I’m exhausted.”
And if you’re in that 40s–50s window, there may be a whole layer of physiological reality in the mix too…fatigue, brain fog, insomnia…while life is asking you to perform at your peak.
None of this means you’re doing it wrong. It usually means you’ve outgrown the old way you’ve been carrying your life.
And that’s fixable without handing you a “10-step framework” that becomes more homework.
There’s a very specific kind of exhaustion that comes from being the only one who sees the whole picture.
A Trusted Partner
Courtney Burton Coaching is designed to feel like a trusted partner…warm, steady, quietly authoritative. A place where you can exhale and get honest, and then build a plan you can actually live inside.
We don’t just add to your to-do list.
We help you build the emotional and operational infrastructure that creates genuine relief and freedom…so you can lead, choose, and move forward without living in sprint mode all the time.
Deeply Kind and Clear Support
Courtney is known for being both deeply kind and clear, the kind of support that helps you feel safe and helps you move.
Peers describe her like this:
“Courtney holds a strong presence… balanced with… gentleness & kindness… [and] the ability to quickly get to the core of an issue…”
“Courtney is always present and grounded… a straight talker…”
Relief You Can Feel
Less spinning, more clarity… so that you can make decisions without second-guessing yourself all week.
A steadier internal baseline… so that you can stop running your life on adrenaline.
Relief you can feel (not just talk about)… so that rest becomes a strategy, not a luxury you never get to.
Cleaner boundaries + sustainable rhythm… so that success stops costing you your health and relationships.
A real “thinking partnership” for transitions… so that you don’t have to make big choices while you’re depleted.
Leadership identity that actually feels like you… so that delegation becomes safer, and you’re not the bottleneck in your own life.
Individual Services
-
For when life feels tough, you’re carrying too much, and you want a clear plan you can trust.
Depending on what you need, this may include:
Fractional Partnership support (so you’re not holding it alone)
A Domestic Mental Load Audit (so relief isn’t theoretical)
Strategic rest planning (operationalizing rest as a performance strategy, not another “self-care” task)
You’ll walk away with:
what’s actually driving the overwhelm (root causes, not just symptoms)
the simplest next steps
support structures that fit your real life capacity
-
If you’re not in crisis-mode, but you are ready to make a shift with support.
Common pathways include:
Career Alignment & Role Exploration (define what “fit” actually means now)
Navigating Role Change & Career Transition (evaluate options without urgency)
Leadership Identity & Effectiveness (lead with confidence, presence, and cleaner delegation)
Life Stage & Next Chapter Transitions (clarify what you actually want this phase to feel like)
To protect quality (and not over-schedule the process), Courtney supports a limited number of clients at a time. If timing matters, you’ll get a clear answer about the next realistic start window…no pressure, just clarity.
This work is intentionally high-touch and presence-based.
The Clarity Guarantee
If you don’t leave with clear insight into what’s actually driving the pressure, and a practical plan you trust, you won’t be asked to move forward.

What happens next:
Pick a time that works.
Complete a short intake (quick + useful).
We meet, name what’s happening, and map the next step that fits your reality.
If Nothing Changes, the Pattern Usually Continues:
you stay more central than you want to be
the same stress loops keep repeating (just with higher stakes)
you keep “handling it” publicly… and paying for it privately
You don’t have to keep living like that.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Career and life coaching is for adults who feel stuck, restless, or out of alignment — whether that shows up as career dissatisfaction, an imminent transition, burnout, or a quieter sense that something needs to change. Most of Courtney’s coaching clients are mid-career professionals who have achieved external success but feel something is still missing, or who are navigating a major life transition like a role change, retirement readiness, or a shift in family responsibilities.
-
A typical individual coaching engagement runs three to six months, with sessions every one to two weeks. Some clients work together for longer when they want ongoing support through a complex transition. The length is tailored during the initial sessions based on your goals and pace.
-
Sessions are roughly 60 minutes, focused entirely on you, and driven by curious inquiry rather than advice-giving. Each session typically includes a check-in on actions since the last meeting, a focused exploration of what’s most alive for you now, and clear next steps. Between sessions, you’ll have access to session notes, homework, and the client portal to track progress.
-
The Hx3 approach moves you through four phases: clarifying your intention and values, embarking on a deeper exploration of resources and roadblocks, taking values-aligned action in the world, and continuously refining your direction. It’s designed to give structure without being formulaic — the framework is consistent, but the work itself is highly personalized.
-
No. Many clients come in knowing only that something needs to change. The early sessions are specifically designed to help you find clarity on what you actually want, which is often different from what you initially thought. If you arrive with goals, great — we’ll refine and pressure-test them. If you don’t, we’ll find them together.
-
Yes. Everything discussed in coaching is confidential. The only exceptions are situations involving imminent harm to yourself or others, which is standard ethical practice for coaches.
-
The free Coaching 101 session exists for exactly this reason. It’s a no-cost conversation where you can ask questions, share what’s going on, and get a feel for Courtney’s style. If it’s a good fit, you’ll know. If it’s not, she’ll often help point you toward someone who would be.
You can be ambitious and well.
You can lead a meaningful life and still have space to breathe.
This is what Courtney Burton Coaching is here for: steady support, clear structure, and relief that actually holds…because the whole human matters, not just the leadership.
P.S. If you’ve been telling yourself, “I just need to get through this season”… consider this your gentle reminder:
Seasons can last a long time when you’re the one carrying everything.
You’ll get grounded insight and a next step that respects your capacity.
